Ob Möbeldesign, industrielle Produktion oder Bauwirtschaft: Holz spielt als nachwachsender Werkstoff eine bedeutende Rolle. Der Fachbereich Holztechnik der Technischen Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe befindet sich auf dem Innovation Campus Lemgo.

Das Smart Wood Center OWL ist ein vom Land NRW geförderter Forschungsschwerpunkt am Innovation Campus Lemgo. Es ist ca. 1km vom Innovation Campus Lemgo entfernt, am Schloss Brake, beheimatet.

Das übergeordnete Ziel des Forschungsschwerpunktes Lippe umfasst die Bereiche Wald-Holz-Bau-Innovationen, Produkt-Innovationen und Prozess-Innovationen.
